My first day of school, I could not stop JUMPING up and down at home… I had been *begging* mommy to go to school like my neighborhood friends. I had a very good idea what school was. Mommy was reluctant because I am not even 3 yet, but she accidentally found a program for me! There are 10 children in the class, and 3 of the girls are named, Ava, Avery, and Ava – a little bit confusing, and a lot funny. There are 3 teachers and 4 hermit crabs in my class. The first day, I cried a lot. Mommy said that was okay, but I did not cry the 2nd day. Today (the 29th) I am so excited to go to school, and I adore it. My personality just needs this social interaction and also the educational challenge.
After gymnastics we go to the library… I have my own card now, with computer priveleges. I always run to the computers, sit down and put on the headphones, like the bigger kids do, so we thought we would give it a try. Guess what? They have Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and I learned to use the mouse to put the frogs on the lily pads!
After the computer we go to Bedtime Storytime, where all the kids come in their pajamas (I leave on my leotard though, as you can see) and we dance and sing and jump around (eh hem, it is called “bedtime” storytime, mommy would like to know who named this class!).
daddy’s birthday was last month – Happy Birthday DADDY!!!
February 29, 2008
from Keira: my 18 month birthday was yesterday! I also had my checkup (with 3 shots, eek), and here are my (wonderful) stats:
height: 33 in (80th percentile)
weight: 24.5 lbs (55th percentile)
from Ava: mommy just got back my 33 month EI evaluation, and here are how I rate (this was done 2 months ago, when I was 33 mos):
fine motors skills: 40 mos (like the average 40-month-old)
communication: 50 mos
problem solving: 50 mos
gross motor: 60 mos (yes, mommy & daddy knew this, hence the gymnastics, cheer tumbling, and ballet)
personal-social: 60 mos
from mommy: I am so proud of my girls, no matter how you do! 🙂
I am still only 2 but I was allowed to join a gymnastics class for 3 to 6 year olds. I do really well, especially on the balance beam, the tumble track, and running (on the white line around the floor – my absolute favorite, I LOVE running on the white line). Every day I ask mommy if today is the day that we go to “nastics”, and on Mondays I am so delighted I squeal, because that is the day I get to go! That is also the day that Keira sleeps over at grandma’s because mommy and I get home so late. I am absolutely bonkers over “nastics”, other than ballet it is my current favorite thing to do in my life… I would rather do that than play with toys *or* eat candy, you see… it is *that* important.
