My mommy, daddy, sister, Gammy Brenda (my sister Keira’s birth mommy’s mom – whew!) and I visited the zoo animals in Baltimore. I had the time of my life! I really, really, really want to take my big sister Livie (in LA) to this zoo – I had promised her that the next time she visits we will go there, and I will remember this, so please come visit Livie!!!

I recognized so *many* of the animals from my books and DVD’s! I was excited that I could teach my daddy about them, too…

Is that a HALO above mommy’s head? Yes? Oh, I see.. it is just the sun :)

November 29, 2006

Gammy Brenda and I are in a very serious conversation. She is teaching me about pearls, and diamonds, and ponies.

November 29, 2006

My mommy, daddy, sister, Gammy Brenda (my birth mommy Val’s mommy) and I visited the zoo animals in Baltimore. I had the most luxurious ride of all throughout the park, see? I hope my Gammy’s back is feeling okay!

My sissy looked on in amazement as daddy helped me to “walk”… I looked like a little cowgirl walking.

November 29, 2006

I pet a cow! I ran my little fingers through her hair and then fussed when Gammy pulled me away… gammy had to let me do it a little more :)

November 29, 2006

Gammy carried me through a few short naps, too… I really enjoyed them. But I made sure to keep them very short, so that I did not miss anything :)

November 29, 2006

This is how my day at the zoo ended… If I remember correctly my sissie Keira was doing the same thing?

November 29, 2006

Okay, so my day didn’t really end there. We went to Wegman’s for chocolate and watermelon. And yes, there IS more in my belly than on my shirt :)

~~~ KEIRA ~~~
This is my new name!
I have been in name “limbo” for a little while now… my first temporary name (given by my dear birth mommy Val) was “Faith” (and it is now my middle name, everyone loves it and it is so appropriate). Then my parents’ name for me was going to be “Mia”, but somehow I just never ended up looking like a Mia! You see, I have this beautiful reddish blond hair and a wonderfully creamy complexion that just screams for an Irish name.
So… drumroll, please… my name (to be made official when I go before the judge shortly) will be Keira Faith Smith. Doesn’t that just roll so nicely off your tongue? We hope you love it as much as we do! :)
love, Keira and family
Thanksgiving was very enjoyable! I did not want to sleep so I ended up taking only one real nap (usually it is 3 or 4!), what a special day. My uncle Chris and my Omi (my mommy’s brother and mommy) came for a visit. My Omi has a very sing-song, animated, and lilting (German) accent and I just could not take my eyes off of her… I was so fascinated by her.
And my Gammy and grandpa came over to love me up, too.
November 24, 2006
I kept insisting that I simply *must* be with my sissie when she is doing fun things, so eventually I conned mommy into putting my bouncy IN the bathtub with Ava. We both very happy with that. Mommy is certain there were high fives all around when she wasn’t looking :)
On my way to the gym with my daddy…
November 24, 2006
It was a *great* Thanksgiving – I really understood that we were having a PARTY and I adore parties! Especially if I am the center of attention. In the morning I helped mommy in the kitchen – do you see the turkey in the sink? I helped to put the spices on it!
November 24, 2006
Why do the men always have to sleep after the big tryptophan intake? I wanted them to read to me! I thought of a great idea and I just stood between my uncle Chris (forefront) and my daddy (on the floor in the background) and read to *them*. Funny thing is that they never even moved while I was reading them (the Once Upon a Potty book)…
November 24, 2006
In the evening my sissie’s Gammy and grandpa came over and I showed off my somersaults for them (see me in the lower left corner?).
November 24, 2006
My daddy is the BEST. On Thanksgiving morning daddy took me outside and let me play in the only water we could find. Mommy had to give me ANOTHER bath when I returned I was so muddy.
November 24, 2006
… see all the water pouring into the diverter? It was probably under 40 degrees that morning, too, my mommy was quite mortified :)
November 24, 2006
My God-sister Annalise came to visit (from Memphis) – she has gotten so big! She is so cute and we had a great time. We will see her again very soon.
Dearest anonymous in CT: we received your letter and it brought tears to my mommy’s eyes. She is saving it for Thanksgiving to show to daddy – it just seems to appropriate to the holiday! Please *do* stay in touch with us. And…. THANK YOU!
