My mommy and I are in a program at the library, called Family Place. It is a fun playroom where we sing, play music (I played sleigh bells and cymbols), do art, play, and of course, read. Also, there are short discussions for mommy on nutrition, developmental and speech therapy, and other interesting topics. I really loved my first week – a boy named Aiden wouldn’t stop holding my head in his hands and kissing my face! Blech!

I am losing a lot of my “baby” looks, I am real girly GIRL now! I do not like taking naps, but mommy still insists I take at least 2-3 of them daily – yuck. And I usually sleep from 8 or 9 pm until 6 am, with one or two feedings with mommy overnight. Mommy is pretty sure I only need one feeding overnight and that the other one is just because I love partying with mommy… aren’t I a clever girl to convince her I need two? See, here is my pinky, and here is mommy and daddy and grandma all wrapped around it

Today is a very special day for my family, it is Adoption Day! We will celebrate it every year, just like we celebrate my birthday. We went to court, and Judge Snyder finalized my adoption! My last name now matches my mommy and daddy’s – Smith. My mommy and daddy were very nervous, but they were very proud, too. The judge asked my mommy all about the website and how Jenelle found us; he likes doing adoptions, because they are such happy occassions. My mommy is thinking a lot of birth mommy Jenelle today, and thanking God for guiding Jenelle to Tad and she.

Look at that belly!
I saw my pediatrician this week, and she said that I have *no* preemie-ness left at all! In fact, I am ALREADY caught up to my 9 month old peers (this wasn’t expected until I was closer to 2 years old)! I am in the 10% percentile for my length, 20% for my weight, and 53% for my head circumference. The pediatrician does not even bother to pull out the 28-week-gestational age preemie charts anymore, she compares me to “regular” 9 month olds. I am waaaay ahead of schedule!
I can almost sit now… I still fall over a little bit because I do not practise sitting very often – I just see no point in it, because I *much* prefer to stand! My little legs are so strong that I can stand for about 15 seconds by myself. You all already know about my rolling over every which way, which I still love to do; especially at night when I do “nakey time” where my bottom has no diaper on… I don’t know why I love nakey time so much, but I just do! Daddy does raspberries on my belly and tickles me and I just coo and giggle and babble. My mommy thinks that I will be crawling soon, because I can put my legs underneath me and put my little bum in the air, and it is just a matter of time before I realize that I can reach the kitties that way.

I had the BEST first Christmas! I received so many presents and I had so much personal attention and spoiling from everyone. Here is a picture of me with my Omi (my mommy’s mom) Heidi, while mommy, Auntie Sassi, and Uncle Chris play Christmas carols. They do not play very well, but they sure have fun doing it!
